Back In Brunei (Part 1)

Part 1 of 4

"It's extremely hot!" I exclaimed while simultaneously hugging my family and sweating profusely at the arrival hall.

Getting back to Bruneian weather was quite the challenge. From -30 to 30 and above. That's a 60 degree difference!

I put my hand into the fridge at home and I can't feel anything cold at all.

"Is the fridge working?" I ask.

"No I think your system's just broken", my father says.

I watched quite a lot of movies this summer. Let me make a list!

Spiderman 3
A lot of people have issues with Peter's character shifting from his normal look to 'emo' look. I think, although it's not done very well, it's the only way to show that Peter was being controlled by that symbiote. And the fight scenes with the Sandman and Venom were very well done. I enjoyed it without a doubt.

Pirates Of The Carribean 3
I didn't watch the 2nd one. But the Singaporeans I feel were portrayed wrongly. And instead of saying "More steam", Chow Yun-Fatt should've said "MORE STEAM LAAAA!!!"

Shrek 3
A hilarious film. And I thought Justin Timberlake was going to sing a little. But I guess not. I don't think SexyBack should be played to children under 10.

Ocean's Thirteen
I can still remember some parts of the dialog (because I watched it thrice). Acting by Al Pacino is superb. And the mashup of all these great actors. Brad Pitt. Clooney. Matt Damon. And that cool Chinese guy.

AND HOW DOES EVERYONE IN THE TEAM KNOW HOW TO SPEAK CHINESE!?!?!

Transformers
All the boys need to watch this film. It has everything. Cars transforming into robots. Slowmotion Matrix-esque camera rotation action while there's two rockets careening past the camera. Geeky-kid-to-boy-who-holds-the-key (or more accurately the glasses)-to-the-world's-safety plot. Sexy-girl-who's-out-with-the-jock-but-then-ends-up-hooking-up-with-the-geeky-kid love story. Linkin Park music at the near end. Little spots of humour here and there. I enjoyed watching this film, even after three times.

And there's this new film that's coming out which looks very interesting. I call it KL Drift. But I think it's called Haru Biru or something else I can't remember!

It's got Protons and Toyotas all souped up and drifting and making tires squeal. Malaysia is going to be South East Asia's Japan.

So I've been hitting the gym quite frequently lately with Jason and occasionally Teo to prevent fats from amassing in the wrong places and looking... weird.

When some people saw me for the first time in a long time, they said "You look more muscular."

I reply saying... "Nah... I'm just ROBUST".

And oh yea, I'm 18 now. Had my birthday a couple of days ago.

All I can say is just...

Legal. I just despise that word.
